Jaw Crusher

Jaw crusher is one of the main equipment used in gravel production. Many customers will encounter various fault problems during the production process, which affects the production progress. Here, BTMA summarizes common jaw crusher failures and solutions for you.

5. The eccentric shaft is bent or broken

cause of issue:

1) The main engine rolls over during the hoisting process, causing the eccentric shaft to bend under unilateral force;
2) The hardness of the crushed object exceeds the provisions of the product instruction manual;
3) The host is overloaded for a long time;
4) The toggle plate does not meet the standard, and it acts as a self-breaking protection when non-broken objects enter the crushing chamber;
5) Improper heat treatment of the eccentric shaft leads to stress concentration, resulting in short-term fracture.

Solution:

1) Replace the eccentric shaft with a new one, and lift the main engine correctly;
2) Select a suitable crusher according to the compressive strength of the crushed material;
3) Adjust the operating load or replace with a suitable crusher;
4) Use brackets and bracket pads that meet the design standards;
5) Replace the eccentric shaft with the correct heat treatment.

6. Fracture of movable jaw

cause of issue:

1) The movable jaw has serious defects such as intensive air holes during casting;
2) Unqualified toggle plates and toggle pads are used, and the toggle plate fails to self-break protection when the crusher is subjected to strong impact;
3) The movable jaw is displaced in the frame, and the bottom of one end collides with the guard plate on the side of the frame;
4) The pull rod spring is not replaced in time after failure;
5) The size of the discharge opening is smaller than the specified limit;
6) The feeding position is wrong, it is biased towards one end or the angle of the lower hopper is too steep, so that the material directly hits the head of the movable jaw.

Solution:

1) Replace the movable jaw;
2) Replace the original brackets and bracket pads produced by the OEM;
3) Correctly assemble the eccentric shaft, bearing, adapter bushing and movable jaw, and replace the damaged parts;
4) Replace the rod spring;
5) Adjust the discharge port size as required;
6) Increase the feeding hopper to ensure that the feeding is even and stable, and it is divided from the middle to both sides.
